A spectacular view at the top rewards our hill runners, Danielle and Kate.
In an effort to appeal to all levels of runners and walkers, most scheduled meets are based on time, not distance. This way, the walkers can reap benefits from the workout while the runners complete challenging speed, strength and endurance sessions. Speed walking around the track will improve distance over time. Brisk walking up the hills will build strength in the legs and the long walks on Saturdays can be sociable while increasing a person's physical endurance. Please invite your friends to join us too.
If you are a Valley Strider member, be sure to check out specific Training Runs/Workouts posted in the Message Board by our members. These challenging schedules are guaranteed to add a kick to anyone's workouts. Print these out along with the calendar above so you can have quick access to planned run/walks.

Our members, Leslie, Bingo and Millie hit the trail.
Don't forget to bring water to the workouts. During the summer months, the plan is to have water supplied at a strategic location on Saturdays but because this is not always possible, you should bring water in your car as a backup. You will be told prior to the run/walk whether or not water is available. This is for Saturday runs only. Water is not supplied on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
